Brutalism of Gdańsk, 2025
These are captures of the most iconic brutalist buildings in Gdańsk, Poland. Large, monumental, grim and intimidating, dozens of years after creation, they still dominate the surrounding. Very crude in design, focused rather on function than on form, each of these buildings is quite unique. Although you can hardly call them beautiful, they have a certain appeal that makes my minimalistic aesthetic sense feel at home.
This may have been the last chance to capture the original shape of these structures, as their condition is continually deteriorating and sooner or later they will be reconstructed or demolished. Let this series be a commemoration of an architecture style and a tribute to its creators.
